This webpage is the result of my final diploma thesis in maritime studies at the

Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

This WEBPAGE is a Web Content Management System which touches the international law of transport (including bilateral or multilateral international conventions) and also all national regulations depending on the law of transport for all nations of the world.

After your login the system provides you with a world map subdivided into several areas covering all countries. The countries, depending on their ratification of international conventions, are displayed at different colours .

The system also offers you a search engine where you are able to select different aspects of liability depending on different means of transport and countries.

The aspects of liability cover the following:

1.) Applicable Law
2.) Definition of carrier/forwarder
3.) Period of liability
4.) Extent of liability
5.) Limitation of liability for (partially) damaged goods
6.) Limitation of liability for lost goods
7.) Limitation of liability for delay in delivery
8.) Limitation of liability for other damages
9.) Notice of claim
10.) Time bar
11.) Place of jurisdiction

Last but not least the system contains an archive with original pdf-files of laws of countries and conventions in different languages if available.
